It was a great week at Franey Trucking as we partnered with the Champaign Fire Department for an important round of hazardous materials (HAZMAT) training. Over the course of three days, we were proud to host more than 85 firefighters for hands-on instruction, collaboration, and skill-building focused on handling hazardous materials safely and effectively.

Our owner, Tom Franey, participated alongside the team—underscoring our shared commitment to safety, community partnership, and continuous learning.

These training sessions strengthen not only emergency response preparedness but also the connection between local industry and first responders who work to keep our communities safe.

A special thank-you goes out to Lieutenants Brad Peck (also part of the Franey Trucking family) and Bryan Schoenecke for their outstanding coordination and professionalism in leading this event. Their dedication made the training a success from start to finish.

At Franey Trucking, we take pride in supporting safety initiatives that protect our employees, partners, and neighbors. Teamwork like this helps ensure that everyone goes home safely—no matter what challenges arise on the road or in the field.
